my housemate, joeseph mauriello.

my other housemate, mr. cockroach.

Nokia N80, used as a USB modem but also for its bluetooth transfer capabilities.

Sometimes it takes a while for video transfers.

Fortunately and unfortunately, the apartheid era is archived in a museum.
Friday
- We met a "coloured man" - accepted ZA terminology for one born of a White African + Black African.
- We went to his house in an attempt to [together] connect to the internet via Bluetooth.
- He supports the recent Xenophobia attacks.
- He is proud of his middle class status.
- He uses the 'n' word freely.
- If he were in Detroit, he'd be shot for his racist and labeling views.
- "Bonnie and Clyde" tried going down the hill, on top of it is where we live.
- We got lost but made it safely to have a Thai lunch with Thuli (BTM lead coordinator)
- Surprisingly, the Asian cuisine here is rather good.
- Nightly visit to a black township (Soweto) not extremely subjected to Xenophobia attacks.
- Saw the old gold mines in the dark.
- Visited the Apartheid Museum.
- Watched jaw-dropping documentation on the social system, elevating violence, + individual narratives.
- We left angry, sad, and appalled.
- Joe and I want to do a road trip to Durban. Does anyone want to come along?
