Revising Logos without really revising logos

I've been in meetings for a large portion of my first few days here. My NGO is very meeting happy and everyone is very anxious to meet the American who has come to save the website.

So far, I've been working on marketing/communication strategies and schedule planning. I just learned I'm also visiting Port Elizabeth next week to work with the organizational development people at the HPCA.

Today was the first day of real work, which was focused on the print material. Even before I could touch the print stuff, I needed to work on revising the logo without really revising the logo. The NGO loves the graphic/symbolism/heart of the logo, so the only real change I was able to make was to change the type face. A small victory, I suppose.

Then I spent a chunk of time digitizing the logo. It's making me sad. Tomorrow will be better.
